The additional data entered here is used for printing of some messages type formats, e.g. VDA 4902 transport labels. The data can be entered manually or by defining data base associations in FlatFile definitions to automatically capture data while reading a FlatFile.
Using the button next to the selection list, you can import the data into the table, export it from the table or delete the data in the table. When you press the button, a selection window appears in which you can start the desired action.
You can use the Import data function to import data from a CSV file into the currently displayed table. The Export data function saves the data in a CSV file. The Delete data function deletes the data in the table.
Import data
After you have selected a file in the 'Open file' dialog, a window opens in which you can adjust the import.
The selected file is displayed in the upper area - changes are not possible there. Below this is a list with information about the file, e.g. which separator was recognized or how many lines the file contains. Lines that begin with a warning triangle indicate possible problems, such as entries that are too long or missing columns. Double-click on such an entry to highlight the relevant line in the file view above it.
You can use the options at the bottom of the window to customize the import.
Skip first line
If the first line of your file contains the column headings, this line should be omitted during import.
Separator
The column separator is automatically recognized when the CSV file is loaded and can be subsequently changed in the selection list.
Mode
When importing, you have the option of overwriting the existing table or appending the new data to it.
Import mode
When you click the Import button, the data from the CSV file is added to the table. When importing, the number of table entries is limited to 1000.
