Used directories

Configuration and protocols

!MC5 stores all data in a folder named OdetteMC in the Bartsch Software subdirectory in the Windows All Users directory. Under Windows XP the complete path is typically:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BartschSoftware\MC5.

On Windows Vista and newer, the path is:

C:\ProgramData\Bartsch Software\MC5.

ProgramData is a hidden folder

Note that the ProgramData folder is a hidden folder. Without appropriate settings it will not be displayed by the Windows file explorer.

The following subdirectories are located in this folder:

Config - Contains various configuration files of !MC5.

CS2 - Contains files related to the client/server module of !MC5.

DB - This folder contains various databases of !MC5 and the EDI module, including the partner database.

EDI - This folder contains various files of the EDI module as well as the subfolder Msgs, which contains all message definitions (also flatfiles) and conversions.

Engdat - Contains various files concerning ENGDAT.

Engpart - Contains various files concerning EngPart.

Log - !MC5 stores all logs in this directory.

OFTP inputs and outputs

!MC5 Creates various subfolders in the inbound and outbound directories for OFTP/OFTP2 partners, where files received or to be sent are moved to various stages of receiving/sending.

Incoming subdirectories

Backup - If received data is post-processed in any way, for example converted from EBCDIC to ASCII, or decrypted in the case of OFTP2, then copies of the unchanged files are stored in this subfolder.

Outgoing subdirectories

Backup - Contains successfully sent files for which an EERP has been received.

Error - Contains successfully sent files for which a NERPhas been received.

Original - Contains copies of files that have been processed by !MC5 before sending (e.g. EBCDIC conversion, encryption, etc.).

Prepare - Working directory of !MC5. Contains files that are still being processed before sending (e.g. EBCDIC conversion, encryption, etc.).

Sent - Contains successfully sent files for which neither EERP nor NERP has been received yet.

Automatic File Sending / Automatic EDI Import

With Automatic File Sending and Automatic EDI Import, the specified directories are periodically searched for new files. With Automatic File Sending, captured files are moved from !MC5 to the source directory of the corresponding partner (or to the Prepare folders). When importing EDI messages, captured files are  moved either in the folder from which they are imported into the (possibly newly created) subfolder EDIImport_Success or EDIImport_Error.
