Receiving data in ENGDAT format

Files received in ENGDAT format are checked by !MC5 to see if a forwarding address has been specified. If this is the case and a user or user group exists that corresponds to the specified forwarding address, the data is forwarded to the corresponding clients. This means that if the corresponding user or a user of the corresponding group logs on via the !MC5-Client, the received files are displayed in his inboxes.

If neither the corresponding user nor the group exists, or if no forwarding address has been specified, then the file inbox will only be displayed to the users who are authorized to see it via their group membership (see User permissions and groups).

Received files are displayed in the client under Inboxes as soon as the data reception from !MC5 is finished. To evaluate the ENGDAT header file and download the received files, select the corresponding entry in the list and then click the Edit Inbox button. Alternatively, a double click on the respective entry is sufficient. This opens the evaluation window for ENGDAT data.

The contents of the ENGDAT header will be shown in a readable format. It can be edited with the usual text editor functions. In order to access the appended files there are the following functions available:

CSTCP_005 - The received files will be copied into a local folder.

CSTCP_006 - The received files will be moved into a local folder. After the files were successfully downloaded they will be deleted from the in-folder of !MC5. This function is available only to users with a membership in a group with right Users can delete / move files.

Receiving other files

For all other files received the function Edit Received will only show a simple file list. As above there are also functions available for copying and moving files. Because there is no direct forwarding available the files will only be shown to group members with the according rights set (see User permissions and groups).
