AS2 (MIME-Based Secure Peer-to-Peer Business Data Interchange Using HTTP, Applicability Statement 2) is a standard (RFC 4130) for secure data transmission of EDI data via the Internet that is used worldwide. Data is optionally encrypted and signed, and receipt can be confirmed by the other party via an MDN (Message Notification Disposition), similar to OFTP. The data is transmitted via HTTP or HTTPS.
