The EDI module enables the automatic import and processing of externally created EDI messages (e.g. created by an ERP) via import rules. The processing is done in two steps:

At regular intervals !MC5 runs through all active import rules and searches for matching files in the corresponding search directories. Files found can be converted into the format required for sending, if necessary. The result is then imported into the outbox of the EDI module.

In the second step, an EDI message captured in this way can then be printed and then automatically transferred to one of the available communication modules for dispatch.

After the import, captured files are moved to subdirectories in the search directory so that they are not captured again.
